Darwin's Barberry - Berberis darwinii

One of the great all-round shrubs, the evergreen Darwin's Berberis works well as a specimen or in a hedge. Scented orange/red flowers are carried in great clusters throughout spring, followed by edible purple berries in summer. The small leaves are dark green, and older leaves turn red in the autumn. Discovered by Charles Darwin during the voyage of the Beagle. To 2m.

At the back with the golden look. The one is front looks like a Privet hedge - very common here.
